How to buy your top-class 30" monitor with 4K...

Choose your screen: Eizo, Nec...?From $1,000 on, we enter a world of superlative color display and big-sized monitors. What we're interested in here are top-quality 30 inches screens. But since 4K screens are progressively replacing our "old" QHDs or Full HDs, it becomes pertinent to take them into account too even if their price, in top-range versions, still makes them unaffordable except for professionals.

Screen Dell UP3017

DELL Ultrasharp UP3017

$930.95

My opinion about the Dell UP3017

Even if this screen doesn't offer the display guarantees nor the uniformity of the other screens below, this PremierColor plate that improves Delta Es (Delta e < 2) compared to the previous U3014 is a great deal and no one but sensors will be able to detect a colorimetric difference if you get a good serial number. I always recommend checking homogeneity/light leaks/dead pixels on a new screen when you receive it – Read the other buyers reviews on Amazon.fr

A 30" screen of this quality for that price is something new, even if uniformity doesn't reach the level of the best!

Screen Dell UP3216Q

DELL Ultrasharp UP3216Q

$1,299.00

My opinion about the screen Dell UP3216Q / 4K

Reading consumers reviews about this screen I unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to try yet is enough to understand that Dell's "top-range" screens don't suffer from the lack of homogeneity that strikes the manufacturer's first-price screens. This UP3216Q Dell monitor gives you access to both Graals of photographers or video editors: large size with 32" and 4K in the same screen. I guess it must be very beautiful! Calibrate it right away just to be sure... it's still Dell! - Read Amazon buyers reviews

It is a Dell screen so I'm always a bit more cautious before recommending them but obviously, top-range Dell screens are a lot more homogeneous than their low-range little brothers. The price of this UP3216Q for a very large size of screen and 4K in addition is absolutely unbeatable!

Screen Dell UP2715K

DELL UP2715K - 5K

$1,634.10

My opinion about the screen DELL UP27155K - 5K

As for its 24" pals, the colors will be excellent once calibrated but the screen won't have the uniformity nor reliability of an Eizo. You never quite know what to expect when you receive a Dell screen. Is it a problem? Not always! Calibrate it right when you receive it, just to be sure! - Read Amazon buyers reviews

Dell screens are beautiful, well-finished and their colors are very good once calibrated, especially here in 5K... but well, homogeneity and reliability are always a bit behind and you never quite know if you're going to get a good serial number with Dell... They are truly cheaper than their competitors though.

Screen Eizo CG248

EIZO ColorEdge CG248

$2,715.00

My opinion about the screen Eizo CG248 / 4K

The whole ColorEdge Eizo 2016 range is all about superlatives! This 24" screen with 4K is obviously a reference if you really need it because the texts become very, very small as well as the thinner details in our images, even at 100% in Photoshop – this is an exceptional video monitor though!

I'd given the CG277 11/10 so I can't wait to try Eizo's 4K screens, even if I think 4K is more adapted to 27" screens at least, considering the level of resolution they reach!

Screen Eizo CG318

EIZO ColorEdge CG318

$4,999.00

My opinion about the screen Eizo CG318 / 4K

I haven't calibrated this screen yet but being very familiar with this brand, I know that we're once again in front of an absolute reference! 4K of EIZO quality, deep blacks and displaying all of the wider photo and video gamuts – Read Amazon buyers reviews

You're probably buying the current reference of screens!
Lucky you!

Screen Nec PA322K

Nec SV PA322-4K

$3,700.00

My opinion about the screen Nec SV PA322 / 4K

Even if Nec offers a 4K screen of a great quality through this product, they're currently letting Eizo triumph in the top-class range... However, this 4K doesn't have competitors under 3,800€ and is thus an alternative solution for photographers. Video makers, be careful because this screen doesn't display DCI-P3 natively.

In absolute terms, it is still an excellent 4K screen without direct competitors, fortunately for NEC!

This website is almost entirely free and yet almost free of ads. Why? Because they look so bad! It is lucrative though, and enables many websites to keep on living. So I asked myself: what can I do? To keep on developing this website, I'm going to need a regular income just like everyone else. How can I keep on giving access to free information like I've been doing since April 2002?

And I finally found the answer: affiliation. Every time you click on a link from this site to one of my partners' shops, they know you've been referred by me and give me a small percentage on your purchase, be it something I recommend on my website or anything else. Remember to use my links when you shop on these sites! It doesn't cost you anything and it's a win-win deal – for me, them, and you!
